Bit of a drab day yesterday at work with nothing really to say. In fact the only thing that kept me awake in the morning was not knowing where Joan was due to her not answering any phone and me getting a bit panicy as a result. Turned out she was next door. Then the evening got off to a bad start after I clipped the gate post on the way in to the drive (again!) due to crowding from other parked cars and trying to get away from some idiot on my tail. Broken one of the wheel trims so that will mean a new set some time after Christmas. Bloody marvellous. Felt great after that!

Oh well, back in the office again now but shortly off to a Car Parks meeting.

Oh God, never have I been so wet whilst being paid for it. Or, in other words, been out doing a bit of roadside work with Gary and we got absolutely drenched. To the point where we had to go back to his flat and then our house to change after giving up. The rain was doing pretty well at putting us off, but when a truck came along and tidal waved at us we decided enough was enough. So we got some takeaway food and sat in the living room watching tv and then playing Super Monkey Ball. All fun and games but now back in the office to show we care!

Got the new curtains and mirror and things up in the lounge last night so no more ladder work needed in there. And tonight we plan to take it easy too as we are both zonked.

Our decorations may have been the first on the office but they aren't going to be the best unless Charles has a spending spree. The office services section have done their area today complete with loads of lights and a full on, snow covered manger type area. Crazy!

Anyway, last night we got the CDs back in the lounge, curtain pole back up, shelves back up, new lights sorted and good things like that. A bit more work tonight and it will be almost back to normal until the carpet arrives.

Empty office today as many people out at meetings and surveying bus routes.

Ooooh, Charles and Gary are putting our decorations up in here now. Working in a winter wonderland...
Woo to guilt-free shopping! I was TOLD to go to Virgin and get some discs in the 4 for £40 offer (and Joan even gave me a £5 voucher to use making it £35) so I had to accidentaly get something for me in the four. So I now have the Linkin Park remix album. Haven't listened to it this afternoon though as the chat hasn't been bad enough to drown out.

Also bought myself Crazy Taxi for the Cube. Not been majorly enhanced over the version Richard has on the Dreamcast, but still fun and as it was second hand only £18.99 instead of £39.99. Not to be sneezed at. And Jeff Minter has released his old Rude version of Llamatron after finding it on an old disk so that gets a Woo as well.
Yay! We now have a water dispenser back downstairs again. And rather than yucky fizzy stuff it does HOT water in addition to cold. I think I will get a small bottle of Ribena in the office and try a warm one to keep me going through the winter without having to risk the limescaled kettle of doom.
Holy Cow, December is here. Which means suddenly houses across the world (OK, I might be exaggerating a bit there) are sprouting gaudy illuminations and shiny things. Some of them are actually quite nice in a restrained, small number of colours and not too many daft figures kind of way. The ones dripping with Santas and Snowmen and Reindeer are not my real cup of tea but those done up with tasteful icicle things and highlights do make me very happy indeed. Not that we will be doing wild things on the outside of our house but there will be lights in some of the windows nearer to Christmas.

Mind you, having spent the weekend doing further interior decorating I am quite happy to leave the outsides for other people anyway. We eventually settled on a colour known as Hot Parika for the lounge. And as it only needed one coat I will be able to return one of the pots of paint tonight for a refund. Which is always nice. Got the glossing done and the CD shelves up as well so now we just need to sort out a few finishing touches and wait for the carpet to arrive. Hope to hear about that today.

So now I am just thinking of ways to get through today and home to finish off with sanity intact.
